The Media Committee for the 4th (Ta'a al-Shabab) Festival continues its arrangements, preparations for the festival which was launched in 2009 under the auspices of Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, aimed to promote current and future cultural projects through various media channels including audio-visual, newspapers, radio and TV, social networking, forums and websites. The Media Committee comprises about 50 youths who have been coached and qualified through various training courses including training workshops on techniques of journalistic, radio and TV news coverage and report writing. The Committee does not only include media professionals but also creative young talents in various domains such as editing, photography, and design in order develop and brush up their skills through these workshops. The Media Committee convenes its weekly meetings with participation from all departments including the press, photography, radio and TV and electronic media and designing in order to appraise is performance and discuss functions agenda, work structure in order to find out rigorous methodology and mechanism of implementation. The organizing committee of Ta'a Al-Shabab Festival expressed gratitude and appreciation to all patrons and partners including Batelco, Gulf Air Academy, Bahrain Aviation Company, Seef Mall, Diyar Al-Muharraq, Al-Ayam newspaper, Al-Watan newspaper, Al-Bilad newspaper, Al-Wasat newspaper and the Saudi Construction Magazine. The Festival's idea was proposed by the late teacher Mohammed al-Banki to engage young people in cultural activities and boost their role in formulation and exchanging of cultures and to create a cultural morale in the Bahraini youthful community.
