Kuwaiti radio and TV works reaped most of the awards of the Cairo Artworks and Media Mondial that concluded in the Egyptian capital Monday night.
The event was organized by the General Union for Arab Producers, November 20-24, under the slogan "Take care of your country --- Terrorism enemy of your country." Top Arab artistes and media figures took part.
The artworks of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information won the "lion's share" of the awards, 23 prizes, head of the Kuwaiti delegation to the event, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry Yousef Mustafa told KUNA on the sidelines of the artistic gathering closing ceremony.
The Ministry took part in the Mondial with 30 radio and TV programs, covering culture, religion, sports, drama and children, he added, noting that they earned admiration of other participants, not only the juries.
He stressed that Kuwait is keen on partaking in all media and artistic gatherings in Egypt.
A major award was offered to the humanitarian program "Kuwait Responding", Mustafa said.
The program was prepared following the unprecedented UN honoring of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a "Humanitarian Leader" and Kuwait a "Humanitarian Center." Mustafa expressed gratitude to Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah for his support to the participant teams and programs.
Addressing the ceremony, head of the General Union for Arab Producers and the Mondial Ibrahim Abu Zekry, said the four-day event had witnessed several agreements for producing media and TV programs between the GUAP and officials of Arab TVs.
He also appreciated the step taken by Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud to produce three joint Egyptian-Kuwaiti soap operas.
