Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah met visiting Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Dr. Ali Jannati here on Thursday.
During the meeting, they discussed ways and means of cementing and bolstering Kuwaiti-Iranian cooperative relations in cultural and media domains, the Information Ministry said in a statement.
They stressed the significance of consolidating bilateral media relations, holding mutual cultural weeks and exchanging cultural and media experience, it said.
Sheikh Salman, who doubles as chairman of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), was quoted in the statement as saying that Kuwait and Iran enjoy firm and close relations and are willing to further consolidate bilateral cultural and media cooperation through coordination and mutual visits.
For his part, the visiting Iranian minister lauded the level of cultural and media development in the State of Kuwait, which has witnessed a quantum jump over the last few years.
The talks were attended by KUNA Board Chairman and Director-General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah, NCCAL Secretary-General Ali Al-Yuha and several other Kuwaiti and Iranian officials.
