Deputy Director General for Editorial Affairs of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Saad Al-Ali noted on Saturday the importance of exchanging experiences with professional British media associations especially in the field of training courses. Al-Ali's statement came during his meeting with training manager in the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Mark James, Head of the Arabic radio department in the corporation Adel Suleiman, along with prominent officials in Reuters news agency and Bloomberg news agency specialized in finance and business. KUNA is aiming to develop its strategies and work techniques in all fields following the latest developments in media, said Al-Ali. He also praised the level of expertise of the British media associations, noting that KUNA would cooperate with them to provide its employees with professional training programs. The associations on their part welcomed the cooperation with KUNA in training courses and workshops in both English and Arabic, adding that these courses would be held in London or in the associtations' headquarters in Egypt and the UAE. The Kuwaiti delegation in the UK had also visited different departments of media associations, learning their work procedures and latest developments. Al-Ali was accompanied by Editorial Managers Sultan Al-Mutairi and Iqab Al-Qobaa, Head of KUNA's office in London Khalid Al-Daihani, and Consultant Hosni Imam. The delegation is scheduled to head to Paris tomorrow to visit the France news agency (AFP), to learn about its modern editorial system, including photography and video editing systems.
