KUNA's Board Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah received the visiting Director General of the Albanian Telegraphic Agency Gezim Podgorica on Saturday.
During the brief encounter at Kuwait International Airport, Sheikh Mubarak welcomed the guest and his accompanying delegation on their three-day visit to Kuwait, wishing them a pleasant and fruitful stay.
The visit aims to sign a draft agreement for cooperation on several domains, including technical assistance, exchange visits of senior and junior employees, news and photo archive exchange and dual coverage of major events across both countries, he said.
Sheikh Mubarak hoped that the agreement would be a launchpad for further cooperation between the two state news agencies.
For his part, Podgorica expressed optimism at this being the first of such agreements with Kuwait News Agency, and hoped that it helps bridge relations between the two agencies.
Asked about his view on KUNA on a regional sense, he said, "we think KUNA is a serious news agency (in the region), that we have come here to learn from," adding that he was happy to be in Kuwait.
In addition to a tour of KUNA's main office, the guests will be taken on a tour of Kuwaiti landmarks, including the Kuwait National Museum, the Scientific Centre and cultural centre Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah.
