Heads of Arab news agencies arrived in Manama today to take part in the 42nd conference of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) to be hosted by Bahrain News Agency here tomorrow.
Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein, the President of the Saudi Press Agency, who is also the Chairman of FANA and the President of the International Congress of News Agencies; Sheikh Mubarak Diaij Al-Sabah, President of the Board of Directors of KUNA; Mohammed Mubarak Al-Eraimi, Director General of the Omani News Agency; Jamal Nasser Sweider, the Executive President of the UAE News Agency (WAM); Faisal Al-Shabool, Director General of PETRA; Tareq Ahmed Mohammed Al-Shami, President of SABA; Lura Sulaiman, Director General of the Lebanese National Agency for Information; Farid Ayyar, Secretary General of FANA; Ali Mohammed Hussein, Director of WAFA; Muayad Aziz Jassim Allami, Director General of the Iraqi News Agency; and Yerba Wild Assaghayer, Director General of the Mauritanian News Agency.
They were received by Acting Director General of the Bahraini News Agency Mohannad Sulaiman Al-Naeemi and a number of officials.
The two-day gathering is scheduled to discuss a number of issues, including ways to upgrade journalistic work within joint cooperation among the member countries amid the current developments in the world.
