The Ruler's Representative in Abu Dhabi's Western Region and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan received here yesterday the Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Awqaf Dr Hamdan Musalam Al Mazrouei and the Secretary General of the RCA Mohamed Atiq Al Falahi. Sheikh Hamdan received during the meeting the awards won by the RCA in international film festivals in New York and Cannes for the its documentaries "Footprints in the Snow" and "Tears for Rain". Sheikh Hamdan said the RCA had made a tremendous achievement in highlighting humanitarian issues through documentaries and reflecting the role played by the UAE in that field, thanks to the directives of the wise leadership. He also said the RCA encourages creative media initiatives, adding that the media is considered a key partner in mitigating impacts of crises and disasters.
