The General Secretariat of Federation of Arab News Agencies "FANA" and Executive Council of Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies "OANA" held their first joint meeting here today, to discuss the forging of a memorandum of understanding and an agreement for cooperation and coordination between the two sides.
At the outset of the meeting, President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and FANA Chairman, Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein delivered a speech in which he welcomed, in the name of FANA and its Secretariat General, this first joint meeting, valuing holding it in Manama, the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the invitation of the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), hoping to be the beginning of fruitful cooperation and realization of all aspirations.
He further said "The Federation of Arab News Agencies puts dialogue, communication and rapprochement with the regional and international bodies and institutions in the field of media at the forefront of its priorities and has many successful experiences in this field, adding that this meeting is an opportunity for constructive dialogue which opens up broad prospects for cooperation and exchange of experiences and expertise, and increase communication and openness among personnel of the same profession,"
