Egypt participated in an international media working group to shape a media message against extremist thoughts as part of the country's efforts in fighting terrorism.
Egypt will be part of the international group that had been formed by media spokespersons of foreign ministries of member states of the international coalition against militant Daesh group.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry, in coordination with Al Azhar and Darul Iftaa, had contributed to the media message and stressed the need to differentiate between the true Islam that calls for tolerance and peace, and the extremist groups' values of violence and murder, Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Aati said.
