A visit by a delegation of editors-in-chief and senior writers of Nile Basin and southern African countries to Egypt was paid in coordination between the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development and the African Sector at the Foreign Ministry, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Aaty said.
In press statements on Monday, Abdel Aaty said that the visit aims at briefing the African readers and writers on the real situation in Egypt away from what the western media says.
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with the 28-member delegation, the spokesman said.
The spokesman added that the African delegation listened to the Egyptian vision on several African and international topics, especially the development issues and the role played by Egypt to support the African countries through the agency.
The diplomat added that Shoukry reviewed Egypt's active contribution to the peace-keeping forces in a number of African countries.
He stressed Egypt's keenness to support the trade and investment relations with the African states.
