Minister of State for Information Affairs also the Government's Official Spokesperson Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab said that the Media Strategy launched last year has begun to yield its anticipated fruits.
The Minister added that 30% of the Media Strategic Plan has been already completed topped by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) latest development matching with its counterparts in the region and worldwide.
The Minister told "Akhbar Al-Khaleej" daily that Bahrain deserves to have its advanced modern national media setup.
The development of national media over the past year-and-a-half has led to positively changing the image of Bahrain in 2013 by 40% and also positively changed the Kingdom's political image in June and July alone by 143%.
This was only possible after thorough studying of the needs, requirements, resources, opportunities and visualization of what the Bahraini media should be like in the year 2018.
Bahrain News Agency now operates under more than 20 cooperation agreements with news agencies all over the world regarding the exchanging of news. BNA has now increased its circulation to approximately 100 stories per day about Bahrain abroad over the past 12 months.
BNA's website has increased the number of its visitors from 3,000 to 21,000 and the languages of its circulation now include French and German besides Arabic and English.
The Agency plans to increase its coverage in all 6 UN-approved languages.
BNA has introduced BNA Live in addition to voice, image, video and texting services on TWITTER (172,000+ visits), YOUTUBE (1,000,000+ visits), INSTAGRAM (20,000+ visits) . Smartphone and tablet applications have also been introduced.
Also, BNA Zaman, BNA Kids have been added which provide interaction with the public as well as BNA Video .
