Information Affairs Minister Isa Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi received Kuwaiti Al-Anbaa deputy editor-in-chief, Gulf Press Union (GPU) General-Secretariat member Adnan Khalifa Al-Rashid.
The minister affirmed Bahrain’s support to the GPU-led activities and functions, hailing the role of the media and the press in bolstering the development strides of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and backing the complementary march towards establishing the Arabian Gulf Union.
Al-Hammadi commended the GPU role in consolidating professional and technical cooperation between GCC newspapers, exchanging expertise and holding training courses ever since it was established in Manama ten years ago.
He highlighted the longstanding role of the Kuwaiti and Gulf press as well as their contributions to disseminating cultural enlightenment, spreading knowledge and spotlighting national, Arab and international issues, in addition to supporting the security and stability of Gulf societies.
