The spokesman for the Jordanian government underlined on Monday the important role of Arab media in facing extremist ideas.
"We need in the Arab and Islamic world to fight terrorism by military, security and intellectual ways," Mohamed al Momani told MENA.
He urged Arab media people to shoulder their national responsibilities at this critical stage to face terrorism.
He said Jordan has been exerting tireless efforts in fighting extremism and terrorism through dialogue and security confrontations with extremist organizations.
Momani will leave later in the day for Cairo to take part in the meetings of the executive bureau of Arab information ministers, to open Tuesday.
Jordan will hand over the presidency of the 46th session of the Arab Information Ministers Council to the UAE.
