The Arab League (AL) urged on Thursday Arab media outlets to play a role in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
Addressing a meeting of Arab media experts, Director of the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information Fawzy el Ghoil called for activating the Arab media strategy and its five-year executive plan as soon as possible.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information Abdul Khaliq Youssef Attia.
In his speech, Attia stressed the importance of the role played by the media to spread awareness about dangers of terrorism and called for renewing religious discourse
