The Arab League will host on Sunday a meeting of media experts team in charge of preparing for the Arab Media Day 2017, a statement by the AL said on Thursday.
The meeting will be presided over by the UAE; the current president of the 46th round of the Arab Media Ministers' Council and attended by Haifa Abu Ghazala, the Assistant AL Secretary General and Head of the Media and Communications Sector at the pan-Arab organization.
Preparations are underway for the first Arab Media Day celebration on May 24-25 under the rubric "the role of media in terrorism-combat", the statement said.
The celebration will coincide with the 47th round of the Arab Media Ministers' Council meetings and involve honoring the winners of the Arab media excellence prizes, it added.
