A senior correspondent at the Doha-based Aljazeera TV channel has been arrested on charges of fomenting seditions and inciting violence against state institutions in Egypt, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
Mahmoud Hussein, the director of Al Jazeera's correspondents, was assigned to choose a number of Egyptian journalists to prepare fake reports about state institutions in Egypt in return for a huge amount of money, according to the statement.
He took several headquarters in Giza along with the house of his daughter as a hideout to commit his criminal act.
Hussein was arrested with a huge amount of video tapes and film equipment in his possession.
All legal procedures were taken and the public prosecution was notified to launch a probe.
