Al-Jazeera journalist Peter Greste called accusations that he had aided the Muslim Brotherhood "preposterous" and claimed that he and his two colleagues are innocent. After uncharacteristically being brought out of their cages in the court to be presented before the judge, Peter Greste, Mohamed Fahmy and Baher Mohamed once again vehemently refuted the charges against them as ludicrous. Greste said he had 30 years experience in the journalism business and it was "preposterous" to suggest he had aided the Muslim Brotherhood. He also added that he had only entered the country two weeks prior to his arrest. His colleague and Al-Jazeera producer had told the judge that he had been videotaped buying wine to which he added, "Have you ever heard of a terrorist who buys wine?" The atmosphere in the court was a hopeful one after this exchange but when the judge came back, he denied bail and adjourned the trial until April 10. He also ordered the arrest of a police officer responsible for bringing equipment to play video related to the case but never appeared. Family of the accused were angry after the adjournment and called the Egyptian legal process "baffling."
