Rolls-Royce is a company that knows a thing or two about luxury and elegance and for the latest bespoke creation, which will be gracing its stand at the Geneva motor show, it's promising to set a new standard in both.
Each of the company's bespoke collections takes its inspiration from a different source. In 2014 theses sources were as varied as world water speed record breaker Donald Campbell and the dominant architectural themes permeating the world's most cosmopolitan cites.
However, for its latest creation, ‘Serenity,' Rolls-Royce has chosen to celebrate silk, its delicacy, its symbolism -- wealth, power, royalty -- and of course, the difficulties presented to even the best craftspeople when trying to create with the material.
The show car's interior promises to be a modern interpretation of the opulent cabins of classic Rolls-Royces specified by kings, queens and emperors, and will combine complex Japanese traditional silk embroidery techniques with a number of contemporary features.
As well as a new bespoke model, which the company claims will set a "new benchmark in super-luxury motor cars," Geneva is also expected to be the venue where Rolls-Royce takes the wraps off its next production car which is expected to be a convertible version of its Wraith luxury GT coupé.
