The new resolution specifies that the fees for light vehicle testing will be Dh120.The fees for the mandatory testing of vehicles, prior to vehicle renewal, have been hiked from Dh100 to Dh120.The fee had been increased from Dh50 to Dh100 last month. According to a resolution issued yesterday by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, the light vehicle testing charges in the emirate of Dubai has been set at Dh120.The testing for classic cars will be Dh420, while fees for testing trailers and semi-trailers will be Dh120. Booking an appointment online for a driving test will be Dh20."The fee for vehicle testing, for vehicle renewal, in all the other emirates is Dh120 already, but in Dubai it was lower at Dh100."This caused transport companies with huge fleets of vehicles to send their cars to testing centres here, flooding them," Ahmad Behroozian, CEO of the RTA's Licensing Agency, said. "So it was necessary to standardise the fee," he said. The testing and registration of classic cars, trailers and semi- trailers is being introduced for the first time, he said. The regulations for these processes are being finalised and they will begin shortly, he said. The classic cars testing will be done in association with the Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE.
