NissanConnect with Mobile Apps has won the ‘2013/2014 Industy Newcome Award‘ from Telematics Detroit, a leading forum dedicated to the future of connected auto mobility, held in Michigan recently.
NissanConnect is Nissan’s global connected services platform, offering a variety of security, infotainment and remote vehicle services to help provide a safer and more innovative vehicle ownership experience integrated with customers‘ connected lifestyle, said a statement.
It currently features in Nissan vehicles such as Altima, Rogue, Sentra, NV200, Versa Note and Versa Sedan.
The infotainment system uses hands-free technology and customers‘ hand-held devices to help drivers more safely stay in touch with the outside world and personalise their driving experience.
More than 2,000 attendees and 100 industry-leading speakers too part at the Telematics Detroit Conference, which is a business-focused conference and exhibition serving the telematics industry.
NissanConnect received about 24 per cent of the ballots cast for Industry Newcomer, edging out eight fellow finalists, at the tenth annual Telematics Update Awards.
Dan Teeter, director of Vehicle Connected Services, said: “In today’s fast-paced and constantly-connected environment, NissanConnect allows drivers and passengers to connect with the world around them while helping minimise distracted driving – a top priority at Nissan.
“With features such as the Bluetooth hands-free phone system, hands-free text messaging assistant, voice recognition and a growing list of apps to play music, keep tabs on social media and avoid traffic jams, NissanConnect is the ideal technology to stay connected while keeping both eyes on the road and both hands on the wheel.”
