Hyundai has today confirmed prices and specification for the New Generation i30 3 door due to go on sale on 24 January 2013. From launch the i30 3 door features four trim levels – two new and exclusive to the new three-door bodystyle – with prices starting at £13,995 OTR for the entry-level Classic. The New Generation i30 3 door brings its own individual style, which sets it apart from the rest of the range. New design touches are instantly recognisable with a prominent front spoiler and reshaped front bumper while a revised lower section at the rear contributes to the stand-out changes. Furthermore, new front and rear fog lamps, a new-look mesh grille, a sharply-raked beltline and a sportier rear incorporating LED taillights complete the design changes. Having two fewer doors than the Hatchback, the i30 3 door boasts a remarkably spacious interior. It has an identical luggage capacity to that of the i30 Hatchback with a large 378-litre boot (1,316 litres with the seats down), while easy-entry rear seat access lets passengers get in and out the rear seats with ease. Like its Hatchback and Tourer siblings, the i30 3 door comes equipped with a generous list of standard specification right throughout the range. The entry-level Classic trim comes with Bluetooth® connectivity with voice recognition, steering wheel audio and phone controls, LED daytime running lights, body-coloured exterior door handles, USB and AUX connections and air conditioning. Moving up to the mid-range Active trim, customers benefit from enhanced comfort and convenience features including 16-inch alloys, cruise control, rear parking sensors and a leather steering wheel and gearknob. Prices for this mid-range trim level start at £15,195 OTR for the 100PS 1.4-litre petrol variant with the efficient Active 1.6 CRDi 110PS Blue Drive costing £17,490 OTR. The Blue Drive model emits just 100g/km of CO2and is capable of returning 74.3mpg on the combined cycle. Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO, Hyundai Motor UK, said: “A key consideration for buyers in this segment of the market is styling and design and the exterior enhancements on New Generation i30 3 door add a distinctive, emotional and sporty element to the range. However, the 3 door retains the same high levels of quality and equipment, coupled with the clean and efficient powertrains found in the rest of the New Generation i30 family.” With prices starting at £16,990 OTR, the new Sport trim comes with a number of additional features as standard, which showcase the 3 door’s individual style. 17-inch alloys, LED tail lights and privacy glass enhance the hatchback’s visual appeal, while alloy pedals, leather and cloth upholstery, dual zone climate control, automatic windscreen wipers and headlights and electrically folding door mirrors help contribute to top levels of comfort and convenience. Sport trim features a choice of two engines in two outputs namely: a 1.6-litre 120PS petrol and a higher output 1.6-litre CRDi 128PS diesel. The range-topping Sport Nav, available from £17,990 OTR, adds a touchscreen satellite navigation system with Traffic Messaging Channel (TMC) plus a rear view parking camera with Parking Guidance System. A Panoramic Sunroof is available as an optional extra on Sport and Sport Nav and costs £950. Two solid colours are available including Creamy White and Cool Red with five Metallic/Pearl options namely: Phantom Black, Sleek Silver, Steel Grey, Ice Blue and Aqua Blue. All Metallic/Pearl paint options are an additional £445. A 3 Year Fixed Price Service Plan from £299 is on offer and is designed to take care of servicing costs for parts, lubricants and labour at prescribed service intervals. As with every new Hyundai, the New Generation i30 3 door is supported by one of the industry’s best manufacturer warranties in the form of the 5 Year Triple Care assurance package. This includes a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, five years free roadside assistance and five years of vehicle healthchecks. From Motorin News
