BYD Auto, a Chinese automobile manufacturer based in Shenzhen, recently launched its first car in Saudi Arabia that can be driven without a driver through a remote control, a report said.
Ibrahim Qahtan, general manager of BYD Arabia, unveiled four models at the launch through First Advanced Auto, the company’s official agent in the kingdom, added the report in Arab News.
One of the models, the BYD F3, is a sports sedan featuring multi-functional steering wheel, adjustable control panel, harmonious and integrated centralised command displaying navigation information using touch technology.
The path of movement may be controlled reverse and forward as well as right or left with a maximum speed of 7 km per hour.
Although BYD did not sweep the Chinese market significantly, its accelerated growth had created confidence in Middle East markets, Diene Chung, regional director for the brand BYD Middle East, was quoted as saying in the report.
