Chrysler executive Massimo Risi says the U.S. automaker has accepted about 10,000 of the 230,000 ideas plant workers submitted in the past two years. Risi, who heads up manufacturing for the Big Three automaker, also said at an automotive conference in Traverse City, Mich., this week that Chrysler has invested nearly $3.2 billion in plant upgrades since June 2009, the Detroit Free Press reported Tuesday. That's when Chrysler emerged from bankruptcy and Fiat took over and implemented its management style. At that point, the Italian car maker controlled about 20 percent of Chrysler. In July, it increased its share of the U.S. company to more than 50 percent.
