The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA), said it has been closely monitoring the weather conditions experienced in most parts of the country since Tuesday through co-ordination with the concerned authorities, including the Ministry of Interior and the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology.
The authority said in a statement that the teams are prepared in all the emirates to deal with the consequences and the damage to some of the vital and residential facilities. It pointed out that the local emergency teams in the UAE will deal with the situation through rapid intervention, and fulfill their duties to the fullest in accordance with the approved plans.
The NECMA urged the public to co-operate with various state agencies and comply with the safety instructions to save lives and property, and not to venture out in the affected and flooded areas like valleys and dams, as well as stay away from the dangerous areas prone to floods.
It called for getting accurate information from official sources, and not circulate any information of an unknown source. The NECMA called on the public to log into the authority's portal to view instructions and awareness guidelines, or log into other official websites of various state institutions to get accurate information.
