A layer of fine dust has gradually enveloped most of the country since Sunday evening, creating difficult conditions for people with respiratory problems. Weather forecasters and physicians said that suspended dust could create problem for people suffering from asthma and other dust and cold-related allergies. The dust has been swept in from the upper Arabian Gulf countries, including Iraq and Kuwait. A thick cloud of dust has dominated most of the GCC countries, but the conditions are much better than what Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and other states have been facing. The temperature has dropped, with poor visibility and rough seas creating travel and transportation problems across the country. According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), the weather will be hazy in general on Monday, with strong shamal winds of 50 to 70km/h, especially over the sea. The centre also expects another fall in temperature. The forecast also hinted that wind speed is likely to decrease during the night over mainland areas. Humidity is expected to rise in the internal areas in the night and early on Tuesday morning.
