Despite extreme weather patterns throughout much of the United State so far this year, forecasters say the fall is generally expected to be a bit more moderate. The Long-Range Forecasting Team of AccuWeather.com says fall 2011 will bring effects from tropical systems to the Southeast, and cold air invasions and snowstorms to the northern Plains and Midwest. Some severe weather can be expected from the southern Plains into the Ohio Valley, AccuWeather.com reported Wednesday. However, forecasters said, there is little hope for drought relief in Texas.Summer has brought stifling heat waves and record temperatures to the eastern two-thirds of the country, and drier-than-normal conditions are expected to persist across Texas and the Southwest throughout the fall, the forecasters said. The only way Texas could get any drought relief would be through a tropical system, forecasters said.
