China's meteorological authorities on Monday forecast that cool temperatures affecting the country's central and eastern regions would continue over the next two days. Temperatures in the central and eastern parts of northeast China, the areas between the Yangtze and Huai rivers, most regions south of the Yangtze and south China will drop by four to eight degrees Celsius, said the National Meteorological Center (NMC) Rainfall will hit the areas between the Yangtze and Huai rivers, regions south of the Yangtze river and most parts of South China, with some areas receiving up to 35 millimeters of precipitation, the NMC said. The eastern part of northeast China will see light snow or sleet on Monday, according to the NMC. Meanwhile, most regions in southwest China will experience light rain or showers over the next two days, with southern parts of Yunnan Province and some regions in Guizhou Province receiving moderate to heavy downfalls of up to 40 millimeters of precipitation, the NMC added. Temperatures in most regions throughout the country will begin to pick up on Wednesday, according to the NMC.
