Visiting Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi on Saturday visited the largest water desalination and power plant in Singapore to get briefed on the country's expertise in this domain.
Sisi listened to an explanation on the steps for water treatment to become potable and in the meantime the generation of electricity from the power pressure.
In an official statement, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said that El-Sisi’s visit to Singapore comes within the framework of his efforts to strengthen Egypt’s relations with the Asian country.
He also added that Singapore has experience in various fields that Egypt is interested in developing, such as the development and management of ports and the management of water resources and improving public education.
El-Sisi is accompanied by Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Eldin Moghazy and Minister of Investment Ashraf Salman.
El-Sisi will also travel to China and Indonesia where he will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
