President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ordered proceeding with maintaining old power stations and establishing new ones to ensure that electricity would not be cut, the presidential spokesman said.
During a meeting Saturday with Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker, Sisi lauded the efforts exerted to develop the electricity sector and avoid power outage despite rising electricity consumption and the heatwave sweeping the country.
Shaker underlined the importance of rationalizing electricity consumption and using power-saving lamps, Alaa Youssef said.
During the meeting, Shaker posted the president on new bids put out by the ministry for establishing power stations depending on renewable energy sources.
