EU Ambassador to Egypt James Moran inaugurated Wednesday a project for developing the use of solar power at the HQs and installations of Matrouh governorate.
This came during the third conference of the project on developing and implementing decentralization solar technologies, which was held under the auspices of Matrouh Governor Alaa Zied.
Moran said the project was conducted in Europe with costs amounted to millions, despite the rarity of solar energy in Europe compared to Egypt.
The EU envoy wished the solar energy could be optimally used in Egypt due its abundance throughout the year; a matter which would bring benefits to many sectors in Marsa Matrouh, especially the remote areas which lacked electricity.
