Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker said there will be no blackouts or power problems in summer after measures taken by the ministry.
In a press conference, he added that the ministry has surpassed all problems concerning power units that were not operating, adding that 1,400 megawatts will be added to the network in May.
Two power plants in north Giza and Suez are expected to operate in summer with 1,400 megawatts capacity.
The ministry is also coordinating with the Petroleum Ministry to provide it with needed oil for the power plants, the minister further said.
Meanwhile, Shaker said the government is taking into account the low-income people, adding that a plan was set to restructure electricity prices to suit them.
