Egypt and Russia are close to sealing a deal to establish a nuclear power station in the Arab country.
The nuclear power station will include four 3G reactors and will produce a total of 4,800 megawatts.
Work is also underway to build 10 plants, three of which to be established in cooperation with Germany's Siemens.
Other plants will also be built, including one in Suez, which should generate 650 megawatts. The steam-electric power plant in Suez is estimated to cost 725 million dollars.
The Electricity Ministry has been working to meet Egypt's needs of power with the aim to achieve sustainable development goals.
Plans have been outlined to rationalize the use of electricity through using LED lamps.
New plants have been established with the aim to add more watts to the national grid.
The Electricity Ministry also acted to upgrade the efficiency of existing power stations.
It is currently working to activate the one-stop-shop system at customer service centers.
