Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab discussed with Electricity Minister Ibrahim Shaker on Sunday a number of power projects carried out by the ministry to meet growing energy demands.
The minister updated Mahlab on developments of setting up three power plants in cooperation with Siemens company at a capacity of 14,400 megawatt, cabinet spokesman Hossam Qawish said.
The trio will be finalized in May of 2018.
Talks tackled coordination between the education and electricity ministries to replace ordinary bulbs with power-saving ones in schools ahead of start of new academic year.
Mahlab underlined the importance of putting a plan with the Interior Ministry to confront those who use electrical current illegally.
