The Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) praised on Thursday an initiative by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to boost the production of renewable energy in Egypt.
This came in statements issued by Executive Director of the center Tareq Emtairah while launching the second edition of the Arab Future Energy Index Wednesday night.
The center shed light on the power agreements, which were signed during the Egypt Economic Development Conference wrapped up on Sunday in Sharm El Sheikh city.
Two deals worth 21 billion dollars were inked to produce 11,200 megawatts of electricity through solar and wind power, the center said.
It also lauded president Sisi efforts to rationalize the consumption of electricity through the LED lamps.
