Medium to heavy smog will shroud north China, and snowstorms will hit the northeast part of the country over the next three days, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said on Friday.
The NMC forecast that haze will linger in parts of Beijing and Tianjin municipalities, as well as Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Shanxi and Jiangsu provinces, until dispersed by a cold front on Saturday evening. Some parts will see heavy smog with visibility dropping to less than 500 meters.
The national weather observatory said that snowstorm and rainstorm will hit northeast China in the coming days. Light to medium snow and rain will sweep parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Heilongjiang Province respectively. Some parts will see torrential rain or blizzard.
Temperatures will drop by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in parts of north and northeast China including Inner Mongolia, and even by 8 to 12 degrees Celsius in some regions.
