Egypt takes part in the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) 2016, hosted by Berlin on January 14-16.
Agriculture Minister Essam Fayed chairs the Egyptian delegation in the international conference, headed on Thursday on a several days' visit.
The summit tackles the latest developments in the field of Agriculture production, especially the strategic crops, modern scientific methods for increasing production, and reducing wasting in food due to poor harvest, transport, storage or consumption techniques.
The conference aimed at narrowing the amounting gab in supply and demand due increasing demand for food globally.
On the sidelines of the conference, Fayed will hold several meetings with his counterparts, senior leaders of the international agriculture organizations, especially FAO.
The Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) is an international conference that focuses on central questions concerning the future of the global agri-food industry.
It is held during International Green Week (IGW) and is taking place in its current shape for the eighth time.
The forum gives representatives from the worlds of politics, business, science and civil society an opportunity to share ideas and enhance understanding on a selected topic of current agricultural policy.
