An area of 80 hectares of vegetation was destroyed by two fires on Friday night Ibn at Ziad and Ibn Badis municipalities situated in the province wilaya of Constantine, Civil protection services told APS.
The largest fire broke out around 4:30 PM at mechta of Farallah (Northeast of Constantine), causing the destruction of 50 hectares of harvested fields, commander Noureddine Zerrouk told APS.
The second fire started around 3:30 PM at Singua Benyaâgoub forest in the municipality of Ibn Badis and engendered the destruction of 20 acres of dry grass and 10 acres of Aleppo pine, the same source said.
The fires were contained and the risk of spreading stopped, said the commander Zerrouk, adding that three tankers for fire-fighting and twenty members of the Civil Protection were mobilized to fight against the fires whose causes are still undetermined.
