The winter solstice, the longest night and shortest day of the year, is expected to fall on December 22 when the earth's axial tilt is farthest from the sun, astronomer Adel Al-Saadoun said on Tuesday.
Daytime in Kuwait will last for 10 hours and some 16 minutes, while the night will last for 13 hours and 44 minutes.
Much of the sunlight will be scattered over vast areas of the earth thus its intensity will subside.
The length of day and night during the winter solstice varies from one country to another.
