The Ministry of Environment and Water will be launching the first national report on the country's State of Green Economy during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability week at the International Water Summit 2015, which will be held from January 19 to 22, at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre.
The Ministry's participation complements the UAE commitment to adopt the green economy approach as a path of sustainable development through the ‘UAE Green Growth Strategy' that falls in line with UAE Vision 2021, which is inspired by the National Work Programme of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan .
According to the Ministry, the report on the country's State of Green Economy is prepared in collaboration with federal and local authorities and the country's private enterprises. It has also collaborated with international organisations, namely the Environment Program of the United Nations, International Labour Organisation, the Global Green Growth Institute and the United Nations Development Programme .
The report will be launched by Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water on the first day of the exhibition.
