The Social Development Ministry's pavilion has won the second prize at Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS) 2015 which was inaugurated by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the Wife of His Majesty the King, on February 25 on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The ministry's 90-sqm pavilion was highly praised by the visitors, especially school children who visited it in the morning and enjoyed the exquisite designs of plants made by mentally-impaired and autistic youngsters who attended an agricultural workshop at the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) Rehabilitation Centre and Alia Centre for Autism.
Social Development Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al-Saleh expressed appreciation and gratitude to HRH Princess Sabeeka for visiting the ministry's pavilion. She explained that the agricultural workshop is one of the professional ones staged by the BBK Rehabilitation Centre to train mentally-impaired people in agricultural work by using modern technologies and boost their capabilities and self-confidence by equipping them with the needed skills.
