President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Wednesday with ministers of irrigation and agriculture to discuss the ongoing national projects.
The meeting touched on the first phase of agricultural development projects aiming at reclaiming one million feddans, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Yousef.
The project is part of a planو which aims at cultivating four million feddans nationwide.
Sisi underlined the importance of establishing integrated communities in the newly reclaimed lands in order to attract investors and ease the load on the densely populated cities.
The meeting also tackled the ongoing efforts to remove the encroachments on the Nile.
