Heavy rain and strong winds are leaving behind flooded streets and power outage in Sharqia and Gharbia governorates, north of Cairo.
Sharqia governorate was hit particularly hard, with heavy rains, power cut and disruption on the roads.
The rainfall overwhelmed waterways and road drainage systems, leading to flash floods, forcing many people to stay indoors.
In Gharbia governorate, inclement weather and soaking rain left roads impassable.
Emergency response teams were put on standby to deal with any possible crisis, officials said.
There were no reports of any injuries.
