Technical teams from the Ministry of Environment and Water in charge of combating the dubas bug in palm trees, visited 517 farms in the Eastern Region as part of a campaign and strategy to combat agricultural pests. The visits, which spanned farms in Khor Fakkan, Dibba, Masafi, and Fujairah, are also part of the ministry's strategy to increase bio-security level and achieve food security. Standards The teams sprayed a total of 130,905 palm trees, during which they followed global safety and health standards pertaining to pest combating procedures, such as the safe disposal of pesticide cans. The ministry urged farmers to call the ministry's hotline (8003050) if they notice any form of agricultural pest infestation. The ministry will then dispatch a technical team to visit the farm and carry out necessary combating procedures.
