Kuwait Ports Authority announced a halt of maritime traffic in the three ports of Shuwaikh, Shuaiba and Doha today due to bad weather in the country.
Deputy Director of Marine Operations Management in Shuwaikh Port Captain Shaheen Al-Tamimi said in a press statement that the bad weather in the country of high wind speed and dust caused the suspension of maritime traffic in the three ports.
He added that the wind speed ranged between 20 and 25 nautical miles and lack of visibility level to below one knot which constituted an obstacle to navigation to and from the three ports.
He explained that the work at the ports, according to the International Maritime Organization Act stops if visibility goes less than three nautical miles.
