A lion killed a young Kuwaiti in Hafr Al-Batin in the Eastern Province on Tuesday as he was trying to tame the animal.
The man, who was in his twenties, died at King Khalid Hospital from severe injuries to his neck and groin.
His friend had stabbed the animal but failed to save him, according to a report in a local publication.
Col. Ziyad Al-Ruqaiti, spokesman of the Eastern Province police, said Hafr Al-Batin police received Tuesday morning a report from King Khalid Hospital that the man had died of his injuries.
He had been trying to tame the lion at a rest house he was using to breed predators.
A probe is underway.
