Kuwait's Environment Public Authority (EPA) and Egypt's Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs have signed an executive program for cooperation in environment protection.
The program was signed on Tuesday on the sidelines of the International Forum on Economy and Green Technologies that kicked off last night.
EPA Director General Sheikh Abdullah Ahmad Al-Humoud Al-Sabah signed the program with State Minister for Environment Affairs Khalid Fahmi.
The program opens fresh prospects for bilateral cooperation, providing training for EPA staff on environment impact and monitoring of the new Suez Canal mega project, Sheikh Abdullah Ahmad Al-Humoud Al-Sabah told KUNA.
It also opens the door for transferring Kuwaiti expertise to the Egyptian side, in terms of the 'Kuwait Visions 2030' on managing and modernizing environment data on water, air and soil, as well as geographical information systems.
Meanwhile, a meeting brought together the Kuwaiti and Egyptian officials with Chief Executive of Bahrain's Supreme Council for Environment Mohammed Bin Daina. They discussed means of enhancing cooperation on environment.
