Kuwait Diving Team stressed the importance of the project dedicated for cleaning the Kuwaiti shores and islands by lifting dozens of waste from these areas.
The project aims to cut off the sources of pollution by imposing sanctions on violators, increase environmental awareness in the society and encourage voluntary works, Head of the team's operations Waleed Al-Shatti told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday.
The team has lifted tons of plastic waste left by ships and sea-goers, 400 klm off the northern coast of Kuwait Towers in cooperation with Kuwait Municipality and the Aqua Park, he noted.
