Under the patronage of His Majesty the King’s personal representative His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain International Green Technology Exhibition and Forum was launched which is organized by the General Authority for the Protection of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife in cooperation with the United Nation Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). On the occasion, HH Shaikh Abdullah affirmed the importance of this international Exhibition and Forum which is held for the first time in Bahrain as international interest in protecting the environment and natural resources increase, saying that Bahrain contributes in these directions by supporting future green technology. HH thanked UNIDO's General Director for attending the event as well as for his support and interest, praising the international specialized companies that participated in the exhibition. He also welcomed the participation of governmental and private bodies and institutions that support the event in embodying an example of true partnership in investing in green technology. His Majesty the King’s personal representative His Highness Shaikh Abdullah noted that it has been agreed to hold this event annually in Bahrain. After that, HH and UNIDO’s general director honored the sponsoring 23 institutions. HH then toured the exhibition where he was informed about the latest international green technology’s products and services, and he toured the ministries, authorities and institutions’ sections as well. For his part, General Director for the protection of environment and wild life Dr. Adel Al-Zayani expressed thanks and appreciation for HH Shaikh Abdulla’s patronage, pointing out that the event comes in an economic and social way in addition to the environmental aspects, saying that green technologies are the future. Meanwhile, UNIDO's General Director Dr. Kamdehkolleh Yumkella praised Bahrain’s wise leadership’s support in protecting the environment and in backing developmental projects.
