The Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARCWH) hosted an environmental sensitization event in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa the VP of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) and the Arab Regional Centre's board chairperson Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, diplomats and proponents of environmental issues.
The environmental awareness event was held in cooperation between the Arab Regional Centre, Supreme Council for Environment, Embassy of Germany in Bahrain, and 'Clean-up Bahrain" Society.
HH Shaikh Faisal in his speech expressed the SCE's gratitude to all the participating entities. A film titled an Ocean of Plastic was displayed to the audience aimed to increase public awareness about environmental issues and to boost the means of oceanic and maritime environmental protection.
German Ambassador to Bahrain, Alfred Simms, expressed his delight at the Embassy's participation in organizing this environmental awareness event, affirming his support to holding the event to increase awareness about the hazards of environmental pollution created by plastic and its negative impact on human health.
