The Environment Ministry will carry out a project this year to cultivate the rooftops of houses in cooperation with civil societies, Chairman of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency Ahmed Abul Saud said.
Speaking to MENA, Abul Saud said coordination has been made with the Social Solidarity Ministry to choose the civil societies that will be part of the project in some Greater Cairo areas.
The ministry will offer the financial funding needed to clean and cultivate the roofs, while the civil societies will provide technical support, he said.
The project will yield economic returns for the house residents, while at the same time increasing green spaces and preserving the environment, he said.
